Apple has introduced a major software update to enhance creativity among users. The renowned US technology company has unveiled a new platform called Creative Studio, enabling MacBook and iPad owners to access premium software at a more affordable monthly rate.
This service provides full access to professional applications like Final Cut Pro for video editing, Logic Pro for music creation, and Pixelmator Pro as an alternative to Adobe’s Photoshop.
Upon its launch later this month, Apple users can subscribe to the service for £12.99 per month or £129 per year, offering substantial value given the software included in the package. Notably, Final Cut Pro alone costs £300 on the App Store, while Logic Pro is priced at £200.
By offering these applications on a subscription basis, Apple aims to make them more accessible to a wider audience.
Eddy Cue, Apple’s senior vice president of Internet Software and Services, stated, “Apple Creator Studio is a great value that enables creators of all types to pursue their craft and enhance their skills by providing easy access to powerful tools for video editing, music making, creative imaging, and visual productivity, all equipped with advanced intelligent features to enhance workflows.”
In addition to the main software offerings, Creative Studio includes extras such as MainStage, which transforms a Mac into an instrument or voice processor, and Motion, a robust graphics tool for creating cinematic effects with features like Magnetic Mask.
Subscribers will also receive enhanced features and premium content for Keynote, Pages, and Numbers apps, with a boost planned for iPhone, iPad, and Mac devices later this year.
While Keynote, Pages, and Numbers will remain free, they will be upgraded for Creative Studio subscribers to improve their user experience.
Cue further added, “There’s never been a more flexible and accessible way to access a powerful collection of creative apps for professionals, emerging artists, entrepreneurs, students, and educators to explore their creative interests from start to finish.”
Apple Creator Studio will be accessible on the App Store starting Wednesday, January 28, with a one-month free trial for all users. Customers purchasing a MacBook or iPad will also receive a three-month trial offer.
For university students, Apple offers educational savings, pricing the software bundle at just £2.99 per month or £29.99 per year.
