Must read

A new section of a theme park inspired by the popular Harry Potter books by J.K. Rowling has been officially announced. Fans will have the opportunity to immerse themselves in a wizarding experience with themed accommodations for overnight stays.

The collaboration between Merlin Entertainments and Warner Bros. Discovery Global Experiences will transform LEGOLAND Deutschland in Germany into a LEGO version of the beloved franchise.

Specific details about the upcoming attraction are being kept confidential for now, with the park promising to reveal more information within the next year. Warner Bros. Discovery Global Experiences’ EVP, Peter van Roden, expressed excitement about providing Harry Potter fans worldwide with a fresh way to engage with the magical world they love.

Since the debut of the first Harry Potter book in 1997, the franchise has expanded to include eight films, three Fantastic Beasts movies, a stage production, and a video game.

While existing Harry Potter-themed areas can be found at certain Universal resorts and the Warner Bros. Studio Tour London, which showcases filming locations, this will mark the first LEGO Wizarding World attraction. Additionally, the park will introduce the first official themed lodging experience, distinguishing it from unofficial wizard-themed accommodations available elsewhere.

The news coincides with the anticipation surrounding the upcoming HBO series scheduled to premiere in 2027. Filming for the show, which commenced in 2025, is set to span a decade across multiple seasons, each devoted to one of J.K. Rowling’s books.

Harry Potter and LEGO have a long history of collaboration, evident in various themed brick sets released over the years. Notably, the first Harry Potter LEGO set, featuring the Sorting Hat, was launched in 2001, and the expansive Hogwarts set, comprising over 6,000 pieces, is currently priced at £409 on LEGO’s official website.

Situated in Günzburg, Germany, LEGOLAND park is conveniently located just over an hour away from Munich Airport. British fans can easily access the park through short flights from the UK on airlines like British Airways, easyJet, and Lufthansa. A brief train ride from the airport to Günzburg, followed by regular bus services to the park entrance, ensures convenient transportation for visitors.

The new Harry Potter addition will complement the existing family-friendly attractions at the park, including LEGO NINJAGO World, MINILAND showcasing iconic structures, Knights’ Kingdom, and LEGO® X-TREME with its assortment of thrill rides and roller coasters.
