“Tesco Gives Away ‘Wonky’ Christmas Trees for Charity”

Must read

Tesco is set to distribute numerous complimentary Christmas trees for just one day.

These “wonky” Christmas trees, typically not meant for sale due to imperfections like uneven branches or a slight tilt, will be given away by the supermarket on Saturday, December 6, at selected stores. Tesco is urging recipients to consider making a donation to the food charities Fareshare and Trussell.

The free trees will be available at various locations including Colney Hatch Extra, Borehamwood Extra, Hammersmith, Southport Extra, Goole Superstore, Glossop Superstore, Bristol Brislington Extra, Cardiff Extra, Dundee Riverside Extra, and Glasgow Maryhill Extra starting at 10 am on a first-come, first-served basis, limited to one tree per household. Comparable Christmas trees at other retailers are priced at £13.99 from Aldi and £14.99 at Home Bargains.

Ashwin Prasad, Tesco’s UK CEO, emphasized the importance of finding joy in imperfect moments and objects, like the “wonky” trees. A recent survey for Tesco revealed that a significant percentage of Brits value the imperfect aspects of Christmas, with many believing that imperfections add to the festive spirit.

In a separate promotion, Tesco is offering Clubcard members double points for every £1 spent on gift cards throughout December, applicable to all third-party gift cards purchased in their stores. Clubcard members typically earn points for purchases on groceries, fuel, Tesco Mobile, Tesco credit card spending, and using the Tesco Clubcard Pay+ debit card, with points accumulating towards vouchers redeemable at Tesco stores.

With approximately 24 million Clubcard members, Tesco continues to provide incentives for customer loyalty and engagement through various reward schemes and promotions.
