“Woman Fakes Pregnancy, Presents Doll as Newborn”

Must read

A woman in Airdrie, Kira Cousins, has caused a stir by fabricating a pregnancy and presenting a doll as her newborn, Bonnie-Leigh. Cousins allegedly used a fake baby bump, staged a fake birth, and introduced a Reborn doll as her baby girl, Bonnie-Leigh Joyce. She documented her “pregnancy” journey on social media, sharing photos of baby scans, a gender reveal party, and items for the supposed baby. Cousins even claimed the baby had health issues detected during prenatal tests.

The deception was uncovered when friends and family discovered that the baby was actually a doll. Screenshots of messages suggest that Cousins later informed her partner, whom she had named as the baby’s father, that the baby had passed away. In response, Cousins vaguely explained the situation on TikTok, mentioning that her family was unaware of the deceit.

A friend, Neave McRobert, revealed suspicions after noticing inconsistencies and lack of the baby’s typical behaviors. Neave’s video testimony exposed the deception, leading to shock and disappointment among those who believed Cousins’ story. The use of Reborn dolls, which resemble real infants and can mimic certain behaviors, added to the elaborate hoax.

Another acquaintance of Cousins recalled noticing discrepancies in her appearance during the alleged pregnancy and remained skeptical about the authenticity of the situation. The friend refrained from voicing doubts due to fear of backlash but eventually expressed disbelief after the truth emerged.

The incident has raised concerns about the lengths individuals may go to in deceiving others, emphasizing the importance of verifying information before accepting it at face value.
