Concerns surrounding the health of US President Donald Trump have escalated following a video showing him appearing to fall asleep during a tumultuous press briefing. This incident adds to a series of public appearances and notable absences that have raised questions about the President’s well-being.
The 79-year-old President has displayed bruising on his hands and swelling around his ankles, with observers noting potential indicators of more severe health conditions during his public events. Despite this, his doctor recently issued an update on Trump’s health, stating that his heart health is equivalent to someone 14 years younger than his actual age.
After undergoing a routine annual medical check-up at the Walter Reed Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland, Trump’s physician, Navy Captain Sean Barbabella, affirmed the President’s excellent health across various aspects.
Following the check-up, Trump received a Covid-19 booster shot and his yearly flu vaccine. Nevertheless, despite the positive health report and clarifications from the White House, certain incidents have left some individuals skeptical about the President’s condition.
Specifically, concerns have been raised about dark marks on Trump’s hands that have come and gone, sometimes appearing to be concealed with makeup. The White House attributes these marks to frequent handshakes and the President’s aspirin use for cardiovascular health.
During a public event honoring 9/11 victims, Trump’s facial asymmetry in images and videos raised alarms about a possible stroke. Although he seemed fine afterward, the incident sparked worry among observers.
Reports of Trump appearing fatigued and gripping a podium for support during a speech have fueled speculation about his health. Furthermore, his swollen ankles, which have been a recurring observation during public appearances, led to rumors and a subsequent diagnosis of chronic venous insufficiency.
While concerns about Trump’s physical health have been prominent, his mental acuity has also been questioned due to a series of inaccurate statements, including a claim about his late uncle’s association with the Unabomber, which was found to be inaccurate.
