Sky has announced exciting new upgrades for its sports coverage, coinciding with the start of the F1 season. Viewers are in for a treat as the broadcaster is rolling out enhanced features to elevate the live sports watching experience.
The upcoming update will introduce an interactive sidebar on screens during race weekends, offering viewers a range of tools including access to Race Control and Recap features. Fans can easily revisit thrilling moments like overtakes and keep track of live in-race standings. Additionally, dedicated driver and team pages will provide access to onboard cameras, enriched race data, explainers, and improved navigation on the homepage.
These new features will be available for free to Sky Sports subscribers using Sky Glass, Sky Stream, and Sky Q devices. While an exact launch date is yet to be confirmed, the update is anticipated to be released later in the season, with existing Sky Sports subscribers receiving these enhancements at no extra cost.
In a statement to Express.co.uk, Sky highlighted the introduction of an immersive sidebar for TV viewing during race weekends, promising fans more flexibility and choice in their viewing experience. The F1 upgrade is just one of the changes from Sky, as the company also unveiled a new Ultimate TV subscription plan that bundles popular streaming services at a discounted monthly rate.
Priced at £24 per month, the Ultimate TV plan grants customers access to Disney+, Netflix, Hayu, and the upcoming HBO Max app in the UK. This package is deemed to offer great value, combining approximately £20 worth of streaming services into a single offering. Additionally, subscribers will enjoy access to over 130 Sky channels alongside the streaming services.
The new offerings from Sky aim to enhance the viewing experience for sports enthusiasts and entertainment lovers alike, catering to a wide range of preferences and bringing diverse content together seamlessly.
