“Two UK Residents Win £1 Million Each in Premium Bond Draw”

Must read

In the latest announcement, the Premium Bond results for January 2026 have revealed two individuals who are each £1 million richer to kick off the New Year.

One of the lucky winners resides in Suffolk and holds the maximum amount of £50,000 in Premium Bonds. Their winning bond number, 570QM451332, was acquired in February 2024. The second winner, hailing from Berkshire, also possesses £50,000 in Premium Bonds, with their winning bond number being 377PG290829, purchased back in December 2019.

Premium Bonds, a savings product by National Savings & Investment (NS&I), operate by entering participants into a monthly prize draw rather than offering a fixed interest rate on savings.

The monthly prize amounts for Premium Bonds range from £25 to £1 million, with a higher frequency of smaller prizes compared to the larger sums. While thousands of £25 prizes are typically awarded, only two £1 million prizes are up for grabs each month. Participants can invest up to £50,000 in Premium Bonds, with each pound invested corresponding to a unique bond number.

The odds of winning a prize on each bond per month are 22,000 to 1. Winners are notified by email or text message from NS&I and can choose to receive their winnings directly into their bank account or reinvest them in Premium Bonds. To check if they have won, participants can utilize the NS&I online prize checker tool or the Premium Bonds prize checker app.

The current prize fund rate, akin to an interest rate for Premium Bonds, stands at 3.60%, remaining unchanged since the August 2025 draw. Despite a gradual decrease in the prize fund rate recently, resulting in a slight reduction in larger prizes awarded, the number of smaller prizes has seen an increase.

Despite these fluctuations, two £1 million prizes are still awarded monthly, with over 24 million individuals currently holding Premium Bonds. Data released last month highlighted Hampshire and the Isle of Wight as the luckiest regions for winning Premium Bond prizes in 2025, with 42 winners scooping the second-largest prize of £100,000. Essex and Outer London followed closely, with multiple winners of £100,000 prizes in the previous year, including two £1 million jackpot winners from Norwich and Cumbria in 2025.
