“Costa Blanca: Top Affordable Summer Spot for 2026”

Must read

A sought-after Spanish region renowned for its white sandy beaches and crystal-clear blue waters has been identified as the most cost-effective summer vacation spot for 2026.

In preparation for our upcoming summer getaways next year, Which? conducted a comparison of 5,393 vacation packages from Jet2holidays and easyJet Holidays to determine the most budget-friendly options. The study focused on a seven-night trip, including flights, departing around August 2, for two individuals sharing a room with various meal plans.

After thorough analysis, experts revealed that Costa Blanca, situated along Spain’s Mediterranean coast, emerged as the top affordable choice for a holiday in the coming year. Which? found that an average seven-night package stay in Costa Blanca during peak summer would cost around £864 per person.

The attractiveness of Costa Blanca’s affordability can be attributed in part to its popular and economical seaside town of Benidorm, often referred to as the ‘New York of the Mediterranean’ or the ‘Spanish Las Vegas.’ Benidorm’s expansive golden beaches, clear turquoise waters, budget-friendly drinks, vibrant nightlife, family-oriented entertainment, and towering structures contribute to its distinctive charm.

Which? discovered that Benidorm offers some of the most economical holiday deals, starting from £535 per person for a week-long self-catering stay at the two-star Playamar apartments. Additionally, an all-inclusive package at the four-star Flamingo Beach Resort, featuring three outdoor pools, is priced at £886 per person with EasyJet Holidays.

Costa Blanca extends beyond Benidorm to offer tranquil Spanish locales away from the hustle and bustle of tourist hotspots. One such option is the quaint hilltop town of Altea, providing stunning Mediterranean views, with room-only accommodations available for £1,033 per person at the luxurious five-star SH Villa Gadea.

Which? identified Costa Blanca as the only destination where a week-long stay in August costs less than £900. In their analysis, Tuscany emerged as the second most economical vacation spot, nestled in the heart of Italy.

Known for its rolling hills, Renaissance artistry, and iconic cities like Florence, Siena, and Pisa, Tuscany offers a week-long retreat for £929 per person, inclusive of flights and lodging.

Rounding out the top three budget-friendly summer getaways is the captivating Agadir coast in Morocco, celebrated for its expansive sandy beaches and reputation as a premier resort destination. With a variety of lodging options along the coastline focused on beach activities, a stay in Agadir costs approximately £946 per person.

According to Which?, six of the ten most affordable holiday destinations for 2026 are in Spain, including Tenerife, Fuerteventura, and Gran Canaria. Additionally, Zante in Greece, known for its crystal-clear waters, lush scenery, and vibrant nightlife, also secured a spot in the top ten.

The following are the most economical package holiday destinations for 2026, as highlighted by Which?, showcasing the average cost per person for a seven-night package stay.
