Sir AP McCoy has shared his recommendations for the future of Constitution Hill, a declining jumps star. The horse, victorious in the 2023 Champion Hurdle and unbeaten in ten previous races under regulations, faced setbacks at the Cheltenham Festival and subsequently at the Grand National meeting in Aintree and the Punchestown Champion Hurdle.
Following a thorough assessment during the summer, trainer Nicky Henderson believed Constitution Hill was ready to compete in the Fighting Fifth Hurdle at Newcastle. Unfortunately, the horse fell at the second hurdle during the race won by Golden Ace.
Despite the recent challenges, Henderson has dismissed the idea of retiring Constitution Hill and is contemplating transitioning the horse to flat racing. AP McCoy expressed his thoughts on the situation, emphasizing the horse’s potential and resilience.
