“Dudleytown: Connecticut’s Haunted Village & Blair Witch Connection”

Must read

In the secluded Dark Entry Forest of Cornwall, Connecticut, lies the eerie deserted village of Dudleytown, renowned for its mysterious past and rumored curse akin to the plot of the unsettling 1999 film, The Blair Witch Project.

Established in the 1740s by Thomas Griffis and later inhabited by the Dudley family members, Dudleytown witnessed a series of tragic events that led to its residents fleeing, ultimately attracting paranormal enthusiasts, troublemakers, and vandals to the desolate area.

The settlement’s decline started with the arrival of Nathaniel Carter, whose family members succumbed to cholera, followed by a string of unexplained deaths and strange occurrences, including residents falling victim to sudden illnesses, accidents, and madness.

By the turn of the 20th century, Dudleytown was completely deserted, with speculations of a curse linked to an ancestral beheading connected to the Dudleys. In the 1990s, the area became a target for vandalism and sensationalism, exacerbated by The Blair Witch Project’s release, drawing in thrill-seekers and ghost hunters.

Regarded as a cursed location with reported poltergeist activity and tales of misfortune and insanity, Dudleytown is now off-limits to the public, as the landowners have prohibited access to preserve the area and prevent further disturbances.
