Conor Benn was ready to FIGHT bitter rival Chris Eubank Jr in the middle of a TV interview with Piers Morgan.
The two are set to come together at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on 26 April. And build-up for the fight between the pair has already kicked off, with the two almost coming to blows.
Eubank cracked an egg over Benn during the pair’s press conference, a reference to his failed drugs test in 2022. That gesture saw him handed a huge £100,000 fine British Boxing Board of Control. The latter’s Dad Nigel then grabbed Eubank by the throat as tensions boiled over.
And the mood does not appear to have simmered since then. The pair once again came face to face in a TV interview alongside Piers Morgan, which is set to broadcast on Friday evening.
The atmosphere was tense throughout, with Eubank saying: “No one else can touch me. And if they do, they’ll be consequences.”
Benn, 28, hit back: “Consequences to what? If I was to slap you right now what you gonna do?,” before he lunged towards his rival, who challenged him with the reply: “Go on, go ahead.”
Benn continued to lunge at Eubank, with two members of security getting between the two. The former said: “You f***ed up talking about my dad.” Eubank then made sure he got the final word in by saying: “You f***ed up by taking this fight.”
Morgan, the architect of the interview, has since given an insight into the atmosphere between the two bitter rivals. He said: “It was fascinating. It was probably the most tense interview I think I’ve ever conducted, with two guys sitting next to each other I was told I had to have security between them.

“I thought it was all a bit theatrical. They went: ‘No you don’t understand, these guys really do hate each other and if you’re not careful they could just literally start winding into each other’, which very nearly happened.
“They squared off at one stage. I thought they’re actually going to have a fight right here in the studio. They really loathe each other and a lot of that is down to the 30 year history between their families.”
Benn and Eubank were originally set to clash in 2022 only for the fight to be cancelled after the former tested positive for a banned substitute. He was since cleared due to what the World Boxing Council called a “highly-elevated consumption of eggs”.
