“EDF’s Sunday Saver Challenge Offers Free Electricity Rewards”

Must read

EDF introduces a promotion where customers can receive complimentary electricity on Sundays by reducing their electricity usage during peak weekday hours. This initiative, known as the Sunday Saver challenge, is running throughout February. Customers who shift their electricity consumption away from peak hours (4pm to 7pm) on weekdays will earn between four to 16 hours of free electricity the following Sunday. EDF customers with smart meters can enroll in the challenge until February 1.

EDF reports that over 260,000 households have benefited from 17 million hours of free electricity through the Sunday Saver program, resulting in £5.2 million in bill credits for customers. The Sunday Saver challenge will take place on four Sundays in February – February 15, 22, and March 1, 8.

During the Christmas period, EDF provided more than 100,000 customers with eight hours of free electricity, totaling 910,536 free hours distributed to households. Natasha Shields from Barnsley, South Yorkshire, has accumulated over 680 free hours through the Sunday Saver challenge, helping her manage increasing living costs.

Jon Perks, EDF’s Sales & Marketing Director, emphasized the importance of the Sunday Saver initiative during the winter months to assist customers in reducing expenses. By monitoring their energy usage through the Energy Hub, households can identify opportunities to save electricity and reduce their carbon footprint.

Customers can track their Sunday Saver progress on the Energy Hub via MyAccount, where they can access personalized insights into their household’s energy consumption patterns. Additionally, EDF is offering a £50 credit to new and existing customers who sign up for any of its electric vehicle tariffs in the next month. These tariffs provide five hours of cheaper electricity every night (12am – 5am) for both homes and electric vehicles.
