The One Show host JB Gill issued a heartfelt statement minutes into Thursday’s (March 27) live show.
During the latest instalment of the BBC programme, the JLS star and co-host Alex Jones were on the green sofa to discuss the biggest news of the day.
Hollywood star Danielle Brooks was also in the studio to promote the new Minecraft movie, as well as Johnny Ball, who spoke about his new autobiography, My Previous Life in Comedy.
But before the interviews began, JB took a moment to congratulate the team at Morning Live, after they earned their first BAFTA nomination earlier today.
“Now, we have got to say congratulations first off to our sister show Morning Live, who earlier today, were nominated for Best Daytime Show in the TV BAFTAs,” JB said.
“Oh, it is so well deserved. Congratulations!” added Alex.
The full list of those hoping to win big at this year’s TV BAFTAs were revealed earlier today, with Alan Cumming set to host the ceremony at the Royal Festival Hall in May.
Morning Live has been nominated for Best Daytime Show alongside Clive Myrie’s Caribbean Adventure, Loose Women, and Richard Osman’s House of Games.
This Morning failed to secure a nomination in the category for a second year running, following Ben Shephard and Cat Deeley’s appointment as hosts.
Netflix hit Baby Reindeer leads with eight nominations, including Lead Actor, Supporting Actress and Limited Drama.
ITV’s acclaimed drama Mr Bates vs The Post Office, Disney’s Rivals and Apple TV’s Slow Horses each hold six nominations.
The BBC leads the broadcasters with an impressive 49 nominations, followed by Channel 4 with 18 and ITV with 14.
Morning Live previously won Best Factual Series at the Royal Television Society’s North West Awards in 2023. The show bagged a further three awards for Best Factual Series, Best Inclusive Practices and Best Presenter for Gethin Jones in November 2024.
The One Show airs weekdays at 7pm on BBC One
