Charlotte Crosby sells house and employs ‘intense security’ after terrifying home raid

Must read

Charlotte Crosby has explained the dramatic extent she’s had to go to in order to keep herself and her family safe. The Celebrity Big Brother winner experienced a terrifying break-in last year, and never wants to go through the trauma again.

Last November, Charlotte, 34, was eight months pregnant when a gang of criminals broke into her £1.4 million Sunderland home while she, her partner Jake Ankers, and their daughter Alba – who’d just turned two – were there.

The Geordie Shore star said she’d learnt some grim lessons from the break-in, saying that she would no longer take fans inside her house on social media.

Charlotte even said she and Jake were looking for a new home after selling the property, and had massively increased their security.

“I won’t share my house anywhere online again. We have very intense security now and it’s very expensive. It’s everything you can imagine for very close protection we have – but no bodyguard!” she told The Sun.

After the incident, Jake explained in more detail what had gone down. “I can’t believe I’m saying this but some little c***s have tried to rob my house with my two-year-old and my partner who is nearly eight months pregnant, armed with a machete,” he shared on Instagram at the time.

He said he chased the four robbers out of the house but wasn’t able to catch them. Jake added: “One of them who was in the house at the top of the stairs had a red balaclava on. He is the one that had the machete.

“My little girl’s in the house. My partner’s in the house,” he recalled of the scary situation, urging his followers to come forward if they had any tips on the crime.

The police also released a statement, sharing: “Police were called shortly before 7pm on Thursday (November 21) to reports of a burglary at an address in Houghton-le-Spring. Officers attended the area however the suspects left the scene before their arrival. Nobody was injured in the incident and no items are believed to have been taken.

“An investigation is now underway and anyone with information is asked to contact West CID on 101 quoting incident number 365 of November 21.”

Months on from the burglary attempt, MTV star Charlotte said that despite the police call out she hasn’t had any more info out of the cops.

“I’ve had this happen twice, like two years before, but I never really received any updates then either. Back then I was on holiday so not at home,” she told the outlet.

Charlotte also spoke of her housing situation, explaining that “it’s only been four weeks” since they sold their home and they were even “happy to go to an AirBnB” if they can’t find a new house before they hand the keys over.
