“Grieving Businessman Found Dead After Wife’s Passing”

Following the tragic death of his wife from cancer, a grieving businessman was found dead in his residence, prompting authorities to initiate a murder investigation.

Emergency responders were called to a house in Matley Gardens, Totton, on October 16 after reports of an assault. Nigel Key, aged 51, was discovered with severe injuries by officers. Despite medical attention, he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Hampshire Police announced that another individual, a 31-year-old man, was found with serious injuries at the same location and has been arrested on suspicion of murder. This tragedy occurred shortly after the passing of Mr. Key’s wife, Sheila, who succumbed to cancer just two months after her diagnosis on October 2. The couple jointly operated a construction consultancy business.

Prior to his death, Mr. Key shared on social media about the loss of his wife, describing it as a significant void in their lives and the world at large, as per reports from Mail Online. He paid tribute to Sheila as an exceptional wife, mother, and grandmother in his heartfelt message.

Providing details of the incident, a spokesperson for Hampshire Police stated, “We received a report of a serious assault on a man at an address in Matley Gardens, Totton, on Thursday, October 16, at 1:32 pm. Responding officers and ambulance services found a deceased 51-year-old male. A 31-year-old man from Totton was arrested on suspicion of murder and is receiving medical attention before being taken into custody. Investigations are ongoing at the scene.”
