Jack Schlossberg has solidified the continuation of America’s renowned dynasty by revealing his candidacy through a message to his supporters. The 32-year-old, offspring of Caroline Kennedy, has expressed his aspirations to take over from long-serving Democrat Jerrold Nadler in New York City’s 12th district.
Nadler, aged 78, is retiring after an impressive 34-year tenure. Schlossberg, recognized for his influential presence on social media platforms, has garnered over 1.7 million followers across various channels, including Instagram and TikTok, where he frequently criticizes Donald Trump and conservative political views.
In an interview with The New York Times, he explained that his bold online persona is a strategic approach to engage with younger voters in today’s challenging media landscape. He emphasized the need for Democrats to elect individuals who comprehend policy and can effectively communicate through modern media platforms.
A graduate of Harvard and Yale, Schlossberg has a background in various governmental roles, including Congress and the State Department, collaborating closely with his mother during her diplomatic assignments. He expresses pride in carrying forward the Kennedy family’s tradition of public service, drawing inspiration from President Kennedy and his uncle, Senator Ted Kennedy.
