An expert from British Gas has shared a clever tip to warm up your home without using your central heating.

Smart energy engineer Jessica Rawstron recommends leaving your oven door open after cooking to utilize the residual heat escaping from the appliance.

Jessica suggests, “Instead of closing the oven door after cooking, why not leave it open to allow the heat to slowly transfer into your kitchen.

“This will help keep your home warm while you enjoy your meal. Just remember to keep children and pets away from the open door.”

British Gas also offers advice on winter home preparation, such as sealing gaps around windows and doors to prevent draughts.
