Millie Mackintosh left needing surgery after suffering nasty injury at home

Must read

Millie Mackintosh has revealed she’s undergone surgery after her three-year-old daughter Aurelia accidentally broke her nose. The 35-year-old former Made In Chelsea star took to Instagram to show her nose covered in bandages after the mishap at home.

Apologising to her 1.3 million followers for being quiet lately, the mum-of-two – who also shares daughter Sienna, five, with husband Hugo Taylor – explained what happened and wrote: “If I’ve been quiet on here recently, there’s a reason why…

“Three weeks ago, Aurelia accidentally fractured my nose! She threw her head back while I was holding her and the back of her skull hit me right in the middle of my nose. I heard a crack, went to get it checked, and ended up needing surgery at the end of last week to correct the fracture. Has this ever happened to other parents? Seriously a parenting low — but also, you kind of have to laugh.”

But recent events – and her oldest daughter Sienna playing up – appeared to bring on a panic attack for Millie, who said she hadn’t had one in months and thought she had them under control.

Revealing what life has been like lately, Millie’s post continued: “Sienna is nearly five and has been having huge meltdowns and violent tantrums. We’ve been setting new boundaries at home and supporting her through the adjustment, and it does seem to be helping. I realised I wasn’t being firm enough — she thought she had all the power, and it just wasn’t a healthy dynamic.”

She then shared how her own health was struggling and added: “I hadn’t had one in months, but this week I had a panic attack. I felt like I was going to pass out, and for about three hours it kept coming in waves.

“The difference is, I knew what it was. I talked to myself kindly, breathed through the discomfort, and put ice on the back of my neck — which really helped. A year ago, this would have ruined my whole day, maybe even my week. I can see how far I’ve come.

“Lately I’ve been worrying about my social media — is anyone seeing this? Is it good enough? Lots of comparison and self-doubt creeping in. I’d love your feedback — what do you want to see more of on my page?“And Aurelia is in a real tricky phase. Everything’s wrong — clothes are too itchy, the bath is too bubbly, pasta is too wobbly, her smoothie isn’t pink enough… You get the picture. Most nights I end up in her bed to get her back to sleep and fall asleep there too. I love the cuddles, but I miss sleeping through the night!”

Fans were quick to offer messages of support in the comments underneath, with some detailing their own accidental injuries at the hands of their kids. One wrote: “Yes, my daughter when about 3 scratched my eye ball by mistake while grabbing at my face… ripped off the top layers. I was in so much pain I thought I was going to faint.”

Another wrote: “So much love Millie and bravo for the honesty. We mums always appreciate this.” A third commented: “Ah I’m sorry, sending you love.” A fourth posted: “My two year old threw her head back and I thought she had fractured my eye socket. It was sooo painful and went black instantly. I cried it hurt so much.” While a fifth added: “Parenting is not always easy for sure, but glad you’re ok xxx.”
