Premier League star’s wife passes out on boozy hen do before marrying former Man City man

Must read

The wife of a former Premier League footballer has revealed how her boozy hen do saw her pass out in a bar before their lavish wedding. Taylor Ward admitted the surprising toll her bridal celebrations had on her before she married former Manchester City star Riyad Mahraz.

The Algerian midfielder, who now plays in Saudi Arabia, married the WAG, 26, in 2022. It the time, they had both religious and legal ceremonies. However, last year they exchanged their vows once again in a luxurious celebration in Italian hot spot, Lake Como.

The latest vows switch has been documented in Amazon Prime TV show Married To The Game. The latest series is set for release on April 8. But now, before fans see the events unfold, Taylor has confessed to what fans are likely to see.

She revealed how she enjoyed a wild weekend with pals in London in 2024 before heading off to Marbella for a yacht trip months later.

Touching on the party times, Taylor revealed: “It was one of the best trips of my life, which is probably a bit offensive to Riyad because we’ve had some great trips together! But you can’t beat a girls’ trip.

“‘We had such a laugh although I’m a bit nervous to watch it back because it was absolute carnage from the get-go!

“My sister couldn’t come on the hen do, because she was pregnant, which was sad, but apart from that, it was perfect.”

She revealed there was one hectic moment that wasn’t caught on camera. Explaining things may have taken a wild turn, Taylor went on: “Oh, we let our hair down!

“I actually fell asleep in the club at one point – it turns out I’m not as good at handling my alcohol as I thought I was.”

She added: “There are some stories to be told, but I’ll never tell! Apart from anything else, I couldn’t let Riyad see inside the hen do – that’s just the number one rule.

“Maybe we’ll have to do a big girls’ trip for series three and let the cameras film it all!”

Taylor gushed at feeling “so lucky to have the friendship group that I have”, calling them her lifelong friends.

“We’re literally like sisters,” she revealed. “We’re just absolute nutters when we’re together.”

The show also touches on how Taylor felt when she found out she would be leaving her life in England for a new adventure in Saudi. Despite the huge distance, Taylor confirmed she has kept her close bond with her mother.

“Me and my mum speak on the phone three or four times a day,” she said. “We’re so involved in each other’s lives.

“She gives me advice about all sorts of things but when it comes to the TV thing she always says, ”Just be yourself and be honest because if you try and be someone you’re not, eventually the mask will slip, and people will see you for what you are anyway.”

As well as Riyad and Taylor’s exchanging of vows, Married To The Game will also look at the relationships of Jorginho and Cat Harding.

Other couples featured include Leon Bailey and Stephanie Hope, as well as Chelsea star Marc Cucurella and Claudia Rodríguez.
