“Ryanair’s New Routes to Sunny Alicante from UK”

Must read

Ryanair has added two new routes from the UK to a lively Spanish city known for its pleasant weather in December. The low-cost carrier has expanded its Alicante schedule, now providing a total of 79 routes from this popular Spanish destination. Among the ten new destinations are Bratislava, Linz, Salzburg, Bydgoszcz, Rzeszow, Stockholm Västerås, Småland, and Lanzarote.

Of particular interest to UK travelers is Ryanair’s introduction of direct flights from Cardiff and Aberdeen to Alicante. The service from Aberdeen will operate on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays, with fares as low as £22 in December. Meanwhile, the Cardiff to Alicante route will run nearly daily in December, with tickets currently priced at just £20.

Alicante’s appeal for a winter escape is enhanced by its climate, with December temperatures averaging 18C and occasionally reaching 23C on warmer days. This makes it an ideal destination for relaxing on its sandy beaches, offering a welcome break from the gloomy weather in the UK.

With 300 days of sunshine annually and picturesque landscapes, Alicante has become a favorite among golf enthusiasts in Europe. The city boasts renowned golf courses like Las Colinas, Lo Romero, La Finca, and Melia Villaitana, catering to both championship-level players and resort golfers.

Beyond golf, Alicante’s charm lies in its blend of old and new architectural styles, a result of post-war restoration and construction. The city’s iconic Castle of Santa Bárbara overlooks the historic quarter, which hosts cultural events like the Festival of Moors and the Night of San Juan.

Exploring the winding streets of Alicante’s Old Town reveals a plethora of pubs, bars, cafes, and restaurants, as praised by visitors like Neil Kelly. Noteworthy attractions include La Explanada de España, a mosaic promenade lined with palm trees and historic buildings, as well as a well-connected public transport system that makes sightseeing convenient.

Visitors often gravitate to Playa del Postiguet, a beach with restaurants and water activities, while Playa de San Juan offers a different coastal experience. The city’s dining scene is diverse, with eateries like Santa Gloria, Bar Cento, and Café Tres Texturas serving up regional cuisine, and Brunch It standing out as a popular spot for morning meals.

For those seeking a taste of home, Browns offers British-style cooking, drawing positive reviews for its Sunday carvery. Whether indulging in local flavors or familiar dishes, Alicante promises a delightful getaway experience for all visitors.
