Must read

A brazen family were captured on camera as they were confronted by staff at a Chinese restaurant before fleeing without paying the bill.

Workers at Pangs Chinese in Uxbridge attempted to stop two thieving mothers from leaving the eatery, with their two kids on March 23. The shock interaction was captured on CCTV at the venue.

In another clip, the family continued to ignore staff and huddled into a white vehicle in the restaurant’s car park. A waiter followed them to the car, but the woman sped off as soon as she could. The determined worker ran after the vehicle, however, he couldn’t keep up.

Pangs Chinese exposed the outrageous pair and shared the CCTV footage on social media. In the caption, they said: “Dine and dash…this is crazy. The scums tried to run me over with their car…Can’t believe they had two kids with them.

“We were extremely disappointed to find that the family left without paying. We strive to provide excellent service and are saddened by this incident.” They added: “This is why we need to take payment up front for their sit down meals from now on. Fed up chasing the people out the door.”

The restaurant has confirmed that they have flagged the crime to the police. Police are currently investigating the dine and dash. “The Incident has been reported to the local authorities and they are looking out for the pair,” Pangs wrote on Facebook. “If you have any information please don’t hesitate to contact the Met ( with reference number ) CAD5141/23Mar.”

Locals slammed the “shameful” mothers and labelled them “freeloaders”. One person wrote on Facebook: “Absolute scumbags. No morals. I hope they get caught. Freeloaders, who have no idea how difficult it is to earn a living.”

Another commented: “That’s shocking, thankfully everyone is ok and I hope they catch them and bring them to justice.” A third person said: “That’s shocking, thankfully everyone is ok and I hope they catch them and bring them to justice. The little girl looks like she’s giving the middle finger.”

A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police said: “We are aware of an incident at a restaurant in Uxbridge where a family left without paying their bill. Enquiries are ongoing, and we urge anyone who may have seen something or has information to come forward.”
