Sky Mobile Announces Price Hike for Millions

Must read

Millions of Sky Mobile subscribers are set to experience an increase in their monthly bills starting next month following the announcement of a new price hike. The majority of customers will face a £1.50 per month increment, totaling an annual surge of £18. However, some individuals may encounter a different change in their bills.

Effective from February 14, 2026, customers will witness the adjusted prices reflected in their billing statements. This adjustment marks the first instance in over seven years that Sky Mobile has communicated a price modification for customers already under contract terms.

In the event that customers are dissatisfied with the price adjustment and are within the minimum term of their contract, they have the option to terminate their package without incurring an early termination fee. Notably, the price of the Sky Mobile social tariff, catering to low-income users, will remain unchanged.

Sky attributed the price revision to escalated wholesale network expenses and assured customers that they would receive notifications starting today if their bills are subject to an increase. A spokesperson from Sky Mobile mentioned, “To uphold the quality, service, and value our customers expect, a majority of Sky Mobile users will notice a £1.50 rise in their monthly bills from February.”

The spokesperson emphasized the gravity of such decisions, noting that mobile prices had not been escalated mid-contract for more than seven years. The adjustment, according to Sky, aligns with the industry’s ongoing cost pressures while enabling the company to continue investments in network enhancements and customer service improvements.

Similarly, O2 recently announced a forthcoming £2.50 rise in monthly bills for almost all mobile and SIM-only contract customers from April 2026, exceeding the initial planned increase of £1.80 per month. Additionally, Three mobile customers with data plans up to 4GB will face a £1.80 monthly increment from April 2026, representing an 80p hike compared to the current £1 rise.

Customers with data plans ranging from 4GB to 100GB can expect a £1.90 monthly increase, while those exceeding 100GB will see a £2.30 surge in their monthly charges. Three broadband subscribers, on the other hand, will witness a £3.50 monthly price adjustment starting April 2026.

Vodafone mobile customers subscribing after November 12 will experience a £2.50 monthly bill rise, while Basics SIM plan users will face a £1.50 increment. Vodafone broadband subscribers, meanwhile, will encounter a £3.50 monthly price hike. Pre-existing Vodafone or Three broadband and mobile contract holders will witness the pre-agreed price increments.

In conclusion, various telecom providers are adjusting their pricing structures to cope with industry challenges, necessitating these revisions to ensure continued service quality and network enhancements.
