Must read

A young individual reportedly received a threatening message consisting of eight words before being covered in gasoline and ignited.

Jacob Thompson, aged 19, is currently undergoing medical treatment in a hospital due to sustaining burns on approximately 32% of his body as a result of the alleged incident. The burns, which include third-degree injuries to his face, torso, arms, back, and legs, occurred on October 13.

According to authorities, moments before the assault, Aaron Valette, also 19, displayed a plastic bottle containing a transparent liquid and warned Jacob by saying, “If you come any closer I’ll burn you.” Valette then allegedly poured the liquid on Jacob before setting him on fire. The attack took place in Coonabarabran, New South Wales, Australia, and several onlookers managed to extinguish the flames.

Jacob was subsequently transported to a medical facility for treatment. Law enforcement suggests that the incident stemmed from an extended conflict between two families in the region.

Valette has been charged with causing severe bodily harm with intent and engaging in a public fight. Mavis Chatfield, aged 45, has also been accused of participating in the altercation and both individuals were denied bail.

In a statement to a local news outlet, The Daily Telegraph, Jacob’s family expressed deep trauma over the attack, revealing the intense emotional toll it has taken on the entire family who witnessed the incident firsthand.

The family stated that Jacob was initially on life support but has shown some progress, although he continues to experience breathing difficulties. Despite the challenges, Jacob remains optimistic and is working through the emotional impact of his injuries.

Jacob is receiving care at Concord Hospital, with his family providing continuous support. Due to safety concerns, the family has relocated from their former residence in the small town.

A GoFundMe campaign has been initiated to aid Jacob and his family during this challenging time. The fundraiser highlights the severity of Jacob’s injuries and the long road ahead for his recovery and rehabilitation, emphasizing the necessity of a safe environment for his ongoing treatment and the well-being of the entire family.
