However, a tragic incident occurred when a young girl fell overboard after her mother asked her to pose for a photo. Authorities revealed that the mother’s negligence led to the accident as she encouraged her daughter to pose near an open porthole without realizing the danger.
The harrowing event took place on June 29 during the ship’s journey back to Florida from the Bahamas. Passengers witnessed the frantic rescue efforts as crew members launched a boat to save the girl who had fallen into the water. The girl’s father heroically jumped in to keep his daughter afloat until they were rescued.
Although Detective Favitta recommended pursuing charges against the mother for her irresponsible actions, the state attorney determined that while negligent, her behavior did not meet the criteria for criminal charges. In another case, parents in the UK faced fines for taking their children out of school to go on a Disney cruise, adding extra costs to their trip.
