Virgin Media is rolling out a significant upgrade for its TV platform users, adding three new bonus channels at no extra cost. The telecommunications company has partnered with Rakuten to introduce three Free Ad-Supported Streaming Television (FAST) channels this month.
The new channels include Rakuten TV Drama on channel 462, offering popular movies like The Big Short, Gosford Park, and JFK. Additionally, Rakuten TV Comedy on channel 463 features films such as Big Momma’s House, The Internship, and Bedazzled, providing viewers with a selection of beloved comedies. Lastly, viewers can enjoy Rakuten TV: Sci Fi on channel 464, promising a variety of content from the realm of science fiction.
Customers with Virgin TV 360 and Flex will automatically receive these channels, accessible through Virgin Media’s TV guide and voice control search function. David Bouchier, Chief TV and Entertainment Officer at Virgin Media O2, emphasized the value of these new streaming channels, offering customers a range of entertainment options, including Hollywood blockbusters, all within a single platform.
With this update, Virgin TV customers now have access to a total of 40 FAST channels, expanding their viewing choices. While Virgin Media TV requires a subscription fee, the enhanced channel lineup sets it apart from free services, providing a diverse and engaging entertainment experience for subscribers.
