“Virgin Media Offers Free Hub 5 Upgrade with Wi-Fi 6 Technology”

Must read

Virgin Media has announced an upcoming upgrade for select broadband customers, promising improved performance with advanced technology at no extra cost. The enhancement targets users with older Hub 3 and Hub 4 devices, offering them the more efficient and faster Hub 5 equipped with Wi-Fi 6 technology.

Eligible customers will be notified via email gradually throughout 2026 as Virgin Media rolls out the upgrades. The Hub 5, featuring Wi-Fi 6 and seven internal antennas for wider coverage, aims to provide stronger and more consistent connectivity in homes.

Virgin Media advises customers to wait for direct communication regarding their eligibility for the upgrade. Alternatively, users can check their router model by examining the sticker on the device or logging into the Virgin Media Connect app.

Upgrading to the Hub 5 router can significantly enhance broadband experiences, offering broader Wi-Fi coverage, increased stability, and support for future updates. The new router is optimized for faster Gig1 speeds, enabling quicker downloads and streaming. Gig1 speeds allow users to download a full HD movie in under 40 seconds, more than ten times faster than the UK average.

Wi-Fi 6, the latest wireless networking technology, delivers faster speeds, improved efficiency, and enhanced performance in busy environments. It supports multiple connected devices, operates efficiently across different bands, and is energy-efficient, making it ideal for modern smart homes with high data demands. While Wi-Fi 7 is now available, Wi-Fi 6 remains suitable for the average user seeking improved connectivity.
