Fans of the Heeler family will soon have the opportunity to experience a Bluey-themed rollercoaster at Alton Towers, offering an exciting adventure for enthusiasts of the show. Bluey and Bingo, the beloved cartoon dog family characters, are already prominent in CBeebies Land with a live stage show and popular meet-and-greet sessions. This upcoming rollercoaster will mark the world’s first Bluey-themed ride, aligning the show with other CBeebies favorites like Peter Rabbit and Hey Duggee.
Named “Bluey the Ride: Here Come the Grannies!”, the rollercoaster features Bluey and Bingo in their granny outfits, accompanied by the grannies Janet and Rita riding in a car at the front with multiple rollercoaster cars trailing behind them. The ride’s name is a nod to an episode from the show’s first season, where Bingo and Bluey, disguised as mischievous grannies, create havoc in the house, learn to floss, and hilariously crash a car, shouting “Here come the grannies!” to kick off their playful antics.
Natasha Spence, Events Director of Live Entertainment at BBC Studios, expressed excitement about bringing the energy of these beloved characters to life through Bluey’s first coaster at Alton Towers Resort, the home of CBeebies Land. Additionally, the live stage show will continue at the Big Fun Showtime area, where children can meet Bingo, Bluey, Bandit, and Chilli for photos after the performance. Alton Towers Resort is also introducing more Bluey-themed rooms at the CBeebies Land Hotel, modeled after the Heeler family’s vibrant home, complete with family pictures on the walls and a bathroom featuring a Bluey theme for extra fun bath times.
Families can book a Bluey suite accommodating up to seven guests, with a separate kids’ sleeping area and a themed playroom where kids can imagine themselves at the Heeler house on a playdate. Staying at the CBeebies Land Hotel grants access to various activities and entertainment, including a kids’ disco in the evenings and a full English breakfast buffet in the mornings.
