Must read

The Ogun and Lagos State Governments issued a joint statement concerning the recent car accident involving Anthony Joshua in Nigeria. The incident occurred on the Lagos–Ibadan Expressway, resulting in the former heavyweight champion sustaining minor injuries while two individuals lost their lives.

Authorities confirmed that Anthony Joshua and another passenger were swiftly taken to a specialized medical facility in Lagos, where medical assessments indicated their stable condition and no immediate need for emergency medical procedures. A dedicated medical team continues to monitor their progress closely. Joshua is conscious and in contact with his family.

Both state governments expressed condolences to the families of the deceased and assured the public of providing the best medical care to those affected. Investigations into the circumstances surrounding the accident have been initiated.

The Federal Road Safety Corps of Nigeria reported that the crash involved a black Lexus Jeep and a stationary red commercial Sinotruck. Preliminary findings suggest that the Lexus Jeep may have been traveling at a speed exceeding the legal limit, leading to the collision with the parked truck during an overtaking maneuver.

The statement was jointly signed by Kayode Akinmade, Special Adviser on Media to the Governor of Ogun State, and Gbenga Omotoso, Commissioner for Information and Strategy for Lagos State.
