“Mother Admits to Fatal Abuse of Son for More Space”

Must read

A heartless mother subjected her defenseless young child to fatal abuse in order to create more space within her residence, as revealed in court records.

Amanda Mae Maison, in a twisted turn of events, has confessed to the murder of three-year-old Matthew Maison, seven years after his tragic demise. She subjected the toddler to confinement, physical violence, and allegedly allowed her then-partner to mistreat the child.

The malicious mother imposed harsh disciplinary measures on the vulnerable boy, including what she termed “military time outs.” Matthew was discovered lifeless in his bed by caretakers at home. Amanda Maison and her then-boyfriend, Maurice Houle, were apprehended in connection with the atrocious act.

Post mortem examination results indicated that Matthew perished due to severe blunt force trauma and probable suffocation. Maison struck a deal with prosecutors, agreeing to testify truthfully against Maurice Houle in his impending trial for first-degree murder.

During her plea on November 5, the 33-year-old mother admitted to mistreating Matthew. Allegedly, the duo orchestrated the child’s death to make way for a future child between them. Maison confessed to pushing her son’s head against a wall during a “military time-out,” as stated by the St Clair County Sheriff’s Office.

Maison acknowledged her complicity in Houle’s purported abuse of the child and actively participated in concealing it from authorities. She also admitted to devising a plan to hide the circumstances of Matthew’s death from law enforcement.

In an official statement, it was noted that Amanda created an environment conducive to Matthew’s systematic abuse, leading to his tragic demise. She collaborated with Houle to cover up the truth about how Matthew sustained his injuries.

St Clair County Assistant Prosecuting Attorney Joshua Sparling emphasized the severity of the case, highlighting the years of abuse suffered by young Matthew at the hands of both defendants.

Maison also confessed to evading medical appointments for Matthew to conceal his injuries. The couple faced charges of first-degree murder, with both initially pleading not guilty. However, Maison later pleaded guilty to second-degree homicide and agreed to testify in Houle’s trial scheduled for early 2026.
