“BT Broadband Customers to Enjoy BT Mobile Comeback”

UK households with BT Broadband connections are in for a pleasant surprise as BT Mobile makes a comeback in the UK market. Following a pause in new customer sign-ups in 2023 in favor of the EE network brand, BT has now decided to reintroduce BT-branded SIM deals to its existing broadband customers.

The specifics of the offerings are yet to be disclosed, but this move reflects BT’s aim to enhance the visibility of its well-established brand, which took a back seat to EE in recent years. Newly appointed CEO Allison Kirkby, who assumed the role in 2024, is determined to reestablish BT’s presence among UK consumers to prevent the brand from losing its prominence.

Kirkby emphasized the company’s focus on investing further in its brands, products, and services during an event at Wembley. With this relaunch, BT will compete directly with major providers like Vodafone and O2, as well as budget-friendly networks such as Giffgaff, Tesco Mobile, and SMARTY.

While pricing details are pending, BT plans to offer bundled services including broadband, landline, and mobile SIMs under a single package and monthly billing structure. Industry analyst Paolo Pescatore views this initiative as a strategic move to stay relevant in a fiercely competitive telecom market, emphasizing the importance of network capabilities to meet real-world demands.

In addition to its market reentry, BT announced its partnership as the official telecoms sponsor for the UEFA Euro 2028 tournament, set to take place in various locations across Britain and Ireland. Pescatore noted that while branding is crucial, the ultimate goal is to reconnect with users, households, and businesses, with the UEFA Euro 2028 deal serving as a significant opportunity to showcase BT’s scale and delivery capabilities.

Pescatore highlighted the unifying power of sports and its ability to create shared moments and emotional connections, making the UEFA Euro 2028 partnership a pivotal platform for BT to demonstrate its relevance and engagement with a diverse audience.
