Factory Worker Turned Millionaire Keeps £15M Win Secret From Son

Must read

A man who used to work in a factory and won a £15 million lottery jackpot has shared that he has not informed his own son about his significant windfall. Going by the name Alain, he now leads a luxurious life after his win, owning a villa and five high-end cars. Surprisingly, his son, who is 30 years old, is unaware of his father’s newfound wealth.

Alain, who is French, discovered his massive win while in the process of relocating, a momentous occasion after years of playing the lottery using his family’s birthdates as lucky numbers. Despite the life-changing sum flashing on his screen, Alain remained composed, more preoccupied with his house move, deciding to deal with the news the following day.

Following the confirmation of his win, Alain promptly left his job in the automotive industry and purchased his dream residence – a renovated villa with a pool. He also indulged in five luxury vehicles, including a Porsche and an Aston Martin, along with acquiring “two or three” watches. The Manchester Evening News reported on his purchases.

The millionaire has since invested parts of his fortune, now earning ten times more than his previous factory income. While Alain chose to disclose the news to his sister, he intentionally kept his son unaware of the windfall, stating that he wants his son to continue working and appreciating the value of money.

Although he has not informed his son about the lottery win, Alain has treated him to luxury vacations since becoming a millionaire. This decision to keep significant winnings secret from loved ones is not uncommon, as seen in cases like a man in the United States who withheld a £7.6 million win from his family out of fear of reckless spending.

In another instance, a lottery winner in Jamaica concealed his identity with a mask from the movie Scream while claiming a prize close to £1 million, expressing intentions to use the money to buy a house.
