A man has been taken into custody following an alleged rape incident that occurred in an alleyway near a police station. The incident took place between Chatsworth Road and the Guildbourne Centre in Worthing, West Sussex, during the early hours of Saturday.
Authorities have conducted investigations in the area to establish the details of the alleged assault, which is believed to have happened between 3am and 4am. The suspect, a 42-year-old man, has been arrested in connection with the case and is currently detained.
Detective Inspector Gary Jacobs, leading the investigation, mentioned that Sussex Police is providing support to the victim and is encouraging anyone with relevant information to come forward. The police are specifically requesting CCTV, doorbell, or dashcam footage from the Chatsworth Road vicinity during the time of the incident.
