Shocking footage captured the moment when two brothers launched a violent attack on a woman’s home in Seasalter, Whitstable. The incident, recorded by a doorbell camera, showed Harry and Alistair Palmer smashing windows, hurling abuse at the residents, and causing chaos on the property.
The brothers, identified as Alistair, 33, and Harry, 32, approached the home on Lucerne Drive, with Alistair at the doorstep and Harry keeping watch from the garden. Despite voices heard from inside the house during the ordeal, no one responded to the aggressive demands, prompting the brothers to leave temporarily.
However, they returned 30 minutes later, escalating their behavior by shouting, swearing, and demanding the occupants to come out. Alistair’s aggressive commands to leave the house were accompanied by physical actions as they began throwing objects through the windows, leading to significant damage to the property. In a final act before fleeing, Harry stole the Ring doorbell.
The destructive incident on May 27 resulted in an estimated £350 worth of damage. Following their arrest, Harry confessed to criminal damage and theft, while Alistair admitted to criminal damage but was not charged for the stolen device. Both brothers pleaded guilty during their court appearance at Margate Magistrates’ Court on September 12.
During the court proceedings, footage from the stolen camera was presented, revealing the brothers causing havoc and searching for a former partner of the property’s resident. Defense lawyer Richard Graham clarified that the brothers were not involved in the subsequent burning down of the property, which had occurred after the incident.
Harry Palmer received a 12-month community order, 50 hours of unpaid work, £175 compensation to the homeowner, and £357 in fines and court costs. In contrast, Alistair Palmer, due to a medical condition, was deemed unsuitable for unpaid work and was sentenced to an 18-month community order with a tagged curfew, rehabilitation sessions, compensation, and costs.
The court proceedings shed light on the destructive actions of the Palmer brothers and the consequences they faced as a result of their violent behavior.
