Co-op is set to reduce waiting times at its stores by introducing innovative “flexi checkouts.” These smart tills can seamlessly switch between self-service and cashier-operated modes based on customer preference. Furthermore, Co-op’s expansion strategy includes the launch of 18 new or upgraded stores in the first quarter of 2026. Some existing stores, such as those in Eastern Green, Coventry, and Ealing, London, will undergo renovations and reopen to better serve local communities.
