A woman described as “beloved” was discovered deceased on a street and has now been identified in Prestatyn, North Wales. The local authorities confirmed that the deceased individual was 45-year-old Angela Shellis. A family spokesperson expressed their deep sorrow, referring to Angela as a cherished daughter, sister, mother, and aunt, emphasizing that she will be greatly missed.
In connection with the incident, an 18-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder and is currently in police custody. Authorities have been granted permission by the courts to detain him as the investigation progresses.
Police are requesting anyone who was in the Morfa area of Prestatyn near the football fields between 3am and 8.30am to come forward to assist in identifying individuals present at the time of the incident.
DCI Andy Gibson of North Wales Police appealed for information, stating that the family is receiving support from specialized officers and asking for privacy during this tragic period. He urged individuals who were in the Morfa area on the morning of October 24th to provide any relevant details to aid the investigation.
The 18-year-old suspect remains in custody, with ongoing interviews conducted by detectives. A further detention warrant was issued by Mold Magistrates Court to allow for continued custody during the investigation. DCI Gibson emphasized the importance of refraining from speculation about the case on social media platforms.
