As a result, three individuals are in critical condition, with a 17-year-old identified as the suspected perpetrator. Approximately 17 students are hospitalized in the aftermath of the blasts.

Law enforcement officials, including the Indonesian Police bomb squad, are investigating the explosions that took place in a mosque within the school premises. Witnesses mentioned hearing two loud explosions during the midday sermon at the religious site.

Authorities, led by the Jakarta Metropolitan Police, are actively probing the background of the suspect and the potential motive behind the incident in Kelapa Gading. Medical personnel have treated and released other victims, according to local media accounts.

Deputy House Speaker Sufmi Dasco Ahmad informed the press that the suspect, a 17-year-old male student, is undergoing surgery. National Police Chief Listyo Sigit confirmed that the suspect was one of two students receiving medical attention for serious injuries sustained in the explosions.

Sigit stated that the police are working on identifying the suspect and conducting a thorough investigation to determine his identity and living environment. Further inquiries are being made to understand why the suspect had a toy submachine gun with specific inscriptions.

Most of the injuries suffered by the victims were from glass fragments and burns. The cause of the explosions, originating near the mosque’s loudspeaker, remains unknown. Jakarta Police Chief Asep Edi Suheri revealed that the wounded were swiftly taken to nearby hospitals, with 20 students still receiving treatment, including three with severe burns.
