UK households relying on Freeview for their TV entertainment are advised to check their equipment and perform a quick retune due to recent channel changes. Freeview has announced updates, with some channels being renamed and others shifting positions in the TV guide. Although the adjustments are minor, conducting a quick reboot will ensure that TVs are fully updated.
Freeview confirmed the update, stating, “On 20th May 2026, some broadcasters are implementing changes to their channels. Users will need to retune to keep their TV and TV Guide current.”
Among the changes, two channels have been renamed. Hobbycraft TV on channel 97 is now known as Shop Unlimited, while Great! Romance Mix on channel 61 has been replaced by Great! TV +1. Additionally, there have been alterations to channel numbers, with Great! Movies moving from channel 61 to 62, and Great! TV +1 taking its place on channel 61.
Freeview emphasized that channel changes are a part of the evolving content offerings on the platform, as individual providers make decisions to move, add, or remove channels. Freeview is committed to ensuring audiences have access to a diverse range of content.
