Freeview users are advised to promptly review their settings and retune their devices following the platform’s recent update announcement. The update introduces various changes to the channel lineup and TV guide. Freeview has confirmed that some broadcasters are implementing adjustments, necessitating a retune to ensure that channels and the TV guide remain current.
The update includes four key changes. Firstly, three channels have been rebranded with new names, now visible in the TV guide. “That’s TV 3” (Channel 71) is now “That’s 20th Century,” featuring music from past decades and iconic shows like Yes, Minister and The Saint.
Moreover, “That’s TV 3 MCR” (Channel 86) has been renamed “That’s 20th Century MCR,” while “That’s Classics MCR” (Channel 93) is now known simply as “That’s Classics.”
In addition to the rebrands, a new channel, “That’s Entertainment,” is set to launch on Channel 75. Although specific program details are not widely available yet, Freeview assures that more information will follow shortly.
Freeview emphasizes that such updates are part of ongoing changes as broadcasters regularly modify their offerings to keep content fresh and diverse.
To ensure that the changes take effect, Freeview users are encouraged to check their TV planner. If the updates do not appear, a retune may be necessary by following these steps:
1. Press the menu button on your remote.
2. Navigate to settings, installation, or a similar option.
3. Enter your PIN if prompted (commonly 1234 or 0000).
4. Select “first-time installation,” “factory reset,” or “full retune.”
5. Confirm your willingness to delete existing channels.
6. Allow your device to automatically search for and store the updated channels.
While Freeview updates occur regularly, this recent update is significant, underscoring the importance of retuning promptly.
