Children’s minister Josh MacAlister acknowledged the persistent nature of the issue as the government reviews guidance provided by the equalities watchdog.
The proposed guidance from the Equality and Human Rights Commission has raised concerns as it suggests the potential exclusion of transgender individuals from gender-specific facilities based on their appearance. This leaked document has been under review by ministers for nearly three months, with Mr. MacAlister emphasizing the need for a thorough assessment.
