The family of a young boy who was thrown from the 10th floor of an art gallery six years ago has provided a positive update. The French child, who was six at the time, suffered serious injuries in the incident at the Tate Modern in London. Following the traumatic event caused by teenager Jonty Bravery in August 2019, the boy endured severe injuries, including a brain bleed and multiple fractures.
In a recent update, the boy’s family shared that he has made remarkable progress and can now engage in activities like running, jumping, and swimming. Referred to as the ‘Little Knight’ by his loved ones, he achieved a personal goal of biking from his home to the beach, a journey lasting 2.5 hours. While he is scheduled for a significant medical procedure early next year that will require a two-month recovery period, he has regained the ability to run, jump, and swim.
Reflecting on their summer experiences, the family mentioned that the boy practiced riding his tricycle with his father’s support and successfully completed the challenging journey to the seaside. Despite ongoing memory challenges, the boy’s cognitive abilities are improving, enabling him to interact better with other children and relax under the guidance of a psychomotor therapist.
Although the boy still requires intensive rehabilitation, attending only half of his school classes due to his health needs, his family is seeking a school that can accommodate his schedule fully. They are preparing to move to a different location to ensure his continued progress, especially with an upcoming surgery in early 2026 aimed at further enhancing his recovery.
The family expressed their son’s apprehension about the upcoming operation but emphasized the surgeon’s confidence in his progress and future prospects. The family has been updating their GoFundMe page, which has raised over £476,000 to support the boy’s recovery journey.
Jonty Bravery, who was 17 at the time of the incident and under supervised care, pleaded guilty to attempted murder and has been serving a minimum 15-year prison sentence since 2020.
