Sky viewers who enjoy movie marathons are in for a change as the network merges two of its services. Sky Cinema Animation (channel 312) is set to combine with Sky Cinema Family starting April 30, creating a consolidated hub for family-friendly films on channel 304.

Despite the reduction in channels, Sky assures customers that all content from Sky Cinema Animation will still be accessible through Sky Cinema Family. Notably, popular titles like the Shrek series, The Secret Life of Pets, and Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse will now be available in one convenient location.

For fans of Sky Cinema Animation, there is a silver lining. Although the standalone channel will be discontinued, it will make temporary comebacks during school holidays, offering entertainment for kids. These special periods include July 24 to August 30, October 23 to November 1, and December 1 to January 5.

In other news, Sky has expanded into the home security sector by introducing new smart devices. The Sky Smart Doorbell and Chime can be subscribed to for £5 per month with a £15 upfront cost, boasting features like full HD video recording and two-way audio. For enhanced functionalities, Sky offers a Smart Home Bundle with Smart Home Plan+ for £8 per month and a £20 upfront fee, incorporating an indoor camera and additional app controls for users.
