Wales Mother Dies on Son’s 13th Birthday Vacation

Must read

A mother of four from Wales tragically passed away while celebrating her son’s 13th birthday on a family vacation in Spain. Emma Wood, 46, from Treherbert in the Rhondda, collapsed during a boat trip with her family on October 19 and despite efforts to revive her, she could not be saved.

The family had journeyed 1,200 miles from Wales to the Costa del Sol to mark her son’s milestone birthday. Ms. Wood, described as a devoted mother, daughter, and friend, adored her children and was always willing to help others in need.

A family friend, Amanda Jayne, conveyed the news on behalf of Ms. Wood’s mother, Dianne Astley, praising Emma as a kind-hearted individual inside and out. The family is asking for privacy as they cope with the loss, remembering Emma as a beloved soul taken too soon.

Ms. Wood’s body was transferred to a hospital on the Costa del Sol, and an investigation into her death is set to commence in Pontypridd. The British Embassy in Spain is providing support to the family and collaborating with local authorities.
