Must read

As the travel season heats up, Wizz Air has rolled out a new check-in process allowing UK travelers to drop off their luggage at the airport the day before their flight.

Airports are gearing up for increased activity as numerous families head overseas for the February half-term break, seeking sunshine amidst the wintry weather. To streamline the travel experience, Wizz Air has introduced a twilight check-in option.

Effective starting today, the service enables passengers to check in and deposit their bags at London Luton Airport the night before their departure. This service is available seven days a week from 9 pm to 2 am for travelers with flights scheduled up to 9 am the next day.

Wizz Air becomes the third airline to offer twilight check-in at Luton Airport, following the footsteps of EasyJet and Jet2. This service arrives just in time for the busy February half-term period, with Luton Airport expecting to accommodate around 325,000 passengers during the week.

Post-Valentine’s weekend, popular destinations from Luton Airport include Amsterdam, Bologna, and Paris for romantic getaways. For those seeking a city break during half-term, destinations like Berlin, Budapest, Lisbon, Prague, and Seville are top choices, offering pleasant weather and picturesque streets to wander.

For travelers looking for a sunny escape, Palma de Mallorca, Murcia, and Malaga are the favored destinations from Luton Airport. Additionally, Lanzarote, Madeira, and hotspots in Turkey such as Antalya and Dalaman are popular choices for winter sun seekers.

To meet the rising demand, Wizz Air will launch new routes from Luton to Barcelona, Madrid, Bilbao, Valencia, and Seville starting March 29. Jet2 will also introduce five new routes to Corfu, Kos, Preveza, Skiathos, and Menorca from May 21.

Clare Armstrong, Head of Guest Experience at London Luton Airport, emphasized the appeal of taking a break during the February half-term to escape the typical British weather. The airport aims to provide a seamless and friendly experience for all travelers, catering to couples, families, and solo adventurers.

The introduction of the twilight check-in service by Wizz Air offers passengers a swift and convenient start to their journeys, aligning with London Luton Airport’s commitment to enhancing facilities and customer satisfaction. The airport anticipates a bustling week ahead and looks forward to serving travelers as they embark on their trips.
