Must read

Apple has rolled out a crucial update for new iPhone users to address a wireless charging issue affecting some devices. The bug has hindered wireless charging functionality, forcing impacted users to rely on MagSafe charging instead.

Although Apple states that only a small number of users have experienced this problem, it is recommended for all iPhone owners to ensure their devices are running the latest software.

The affected models include the iPhone 17 series, comprising the Pro and Pro Max variants, as well as the iPhone Air. According to Apple, the update resolves a specific issue that hampers wired charging on these models when the battery is nearly depleted.

To update your device, navigate to Settings, select General, and then choose Software Update. The update labeled iOS 26.5.1 will be available for installation. Users can opt to update immediately or schedule the process for nighttime. It is advised to connect to Wi-Fi or have sufficient mobile data as the update file size is substantial at 13.6GB.

Apple enthusiasts can anticipate a significant week ahead with the commencement of the company’s annual WWDC Developers Conference on June 8. The event is expected to introduce the new iOS 27 upgrade, bringing a host of novel features to iPhones and potentially enhancing their artificial intelligence capabilities.

Susan Prescott, Apple’s vice president of Worldwide Developer Relations, expressed excitement for the upcoming event, highlighting the collaborative and innovative atmosphere that WWDC fosters. The event will be closely covered by Mirror Online, providing live updates and news from the WWDC starting at 6pm BST.
