Teenager survives crocodile attack in Australia; tourist tragically killed in South Africa

Must read

A crocodile attacked a teenage boy who was fishing with his friends. The 14-year-old, part of a group of three non-locals fishing in waist-deep water, survived a dangerous ‘death roll’ maneuver by the crocodile. He sustained leg and abdomen wounds but was swiftly transported to a nearby hotel for initial treatment and later airlifted to Cairns Hospital, where he was reported to be in stable condition.

The incident occurred 100km north of Cairns in Far North Queensland, Australia, on a Saturday afternoon. A Queensland Ambulance Service spokesperson confirmed the airlift of a male teenager with injuries following a crocodile attack at a public beach.

In a separate incident, a tourist met a tragic end in a crocodile attack at Bonamanzi Game Reserve in South Africa. Ignoring warning signs, the 56-year-old man was dragged into the river by a 12-foot crocodile while fishing with his family. Eyewitnesses described the horrifying scene of the crocodile attacking the man, who ultimately disappeared under the water and was later found deceased.

The victim, a 56-year-old South African from Richards Bay, had been staying at the reserve with his family. The reserve offers live feeding experiences for guests, but it is unclear if this activity was available on the day of the attack.
