Workmen have been spotted working diligently at Frogmore Cottage around the clock in preparation for Prince Andrew’s anticipated relocation, as per reports. This activity coincides with Andrew relinquishing his royal titles earlier due to his association with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, prompting increased pressure for him to vacate the Royal Lodge. Previous suggestions had been made for Andrew and his ex-wife Sarah Ferguson to consider Adelaide Cottage and Frogmore Cottage as potential residences at Windsor Castle.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, former occupants of Frogmore Cottage, invested £2.4 million in refurbishments when they resided there in 2019. The couple was later asked to vacate the property by 2023.
According to The Sun, Prince Andrew has expressed his willingness to vacate Royal Lodge with an interest in residing at Frogmore Cottage, while Sarah reportedly favors Adelaide Cottage. Staying in Windsor would allow Andrew to stay close to his daughters, Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie, as well as their families.
Insiders revealed that ongoing renovations have been taking place at Frogmore Cottage, with workers present day and night. The property, a Crown Estate asset, was constructed in 1972 by Queen Charlotte and has historically served as a retreat for royal household staff, including a brief residence by Eugenie. Frogmore Cottage was offered to Prince Andrew last year by the King, a proposition he declined.
Buckingham Palace has yet to comment on Prince Andrew’s potential relocation plans or future residence.
