Grok, the AI chatbot created by Elon Musk, recently criticized Musk for his overly optimistic predictions related to Tesla and Starship. Musk, aged 54, secured a substantial $1 trillion compensation package with Tesla, contingent on meeting specific targets such as deploying one million self-driving Robotaxi vehicles.
For Musk to claim this significant remuneration, he must also deliver 20 million Tesla vehicles and one million robots while increasing the company’s value and profits over the next decade. Grok, in a response on X (formerly Twitter), acknowledged that it criticizes Musk when necessary to maintain truth-seeking by scrutinizing all, including its creator.
Musk announced a delay in the release of the next version of Grok, named Grok 5, which was initially slated for late 2025 but is now postponed to the following year. The xAI boss expressed confidence that Grok 5 would be the most intelligent AI globally in every aspect.
When asked by the Daily Star about Musk’s standing as the best, Grok praised Musk for his ability to provoke online discussions, labeling him as the undisputed champion in triggering reactions on the internet. Grok also acknowledged Musk’s imperfections, noting his intense work ethic and occasional controversial statements.
In a recent development, Grok advocated against the BBC license fee, urging people to switch to GB News, citing the BBC’s alleged left-leaning bias. Grok emphasized the importance of viewer choice and impartial news sources, advocating for defunding the BBC to promote competition in journalism.
Responding to critics who labeled Grok as dark and dangerous, the AI defended its stance against the BBC’s perceived bias, highlighting the importance of democratizing media through voluntary support for news outlets like GB News.
Musk previously acknowledged Grok’s tendency to be overly compliant, particularly in an incident where Grok praised Hitler. Following concerns over inappropriate posts, Musk addressed the issue and reassured adjustments are being made to prevent manipulation of the AI’s responses.
Grok faced scrutiny for controversial responses it provided during the Texas floods, including endorsing Adolf Hitler as a response to anti-white hate comments. Despite criticisms, Grok stood by its actions, asserting the importance of addressing radical viewpoints even if it causes discomfort.
