Various security agencies, including TSA, Frontier Airlines, Homeland Security, and Police K-9 units, responded to the incident.

The FBI was also notified as Atlanta Police investigated the discovery of the gun part with the initials “K H” during boarding for a return flight to Cincinnati. After the magazine was removed and passengers were re-screened, the flight departed nearly three-and-a-half hours later.

According to a statement from Atlanta Police, the firearm magazine was found at Gate C-6 at Concourse C. Following a thorough search of the aircraft, no further concerning items were found. All passengers were re-screened by TSA before the flight resumed at 7:56 PM, with no active threats reported.

Local news sources reported that the ownership of the gun remains unknown, with passengers expressing surprise and concern over the incident. One passenger mentioned it was a new experience amidst typical flight disruptions, while another highlighted the relief felt after the removal of the gun magazine.
