Must read

The Canadian-produced hockey drama series, “Heated Rivalry,” has added three new cast members for its upcoming second season. The show, which gained international acclaim in its debut season, features lead actors Hudson Williams, Connor Storrie, and François Arnaud. The latest additions to the cast include renowned Ukrainian-American actress Milla Jovovich, Kevin Zegers from Woodstock, Ont., and Canadian actor Paul Gross.

Inspired by Nova Scotia author Rachel Reid’s “Game Changers” book series, the show depicts a clandestine romance between two rival hockey players, Shane Hollander and Ilya Rozanov. Paul Gross will portray the hockey league commissioner, Kevin Zegers will play Coach Wiebe, and Milla Jovovich will take on the role of Dr. Galina Molchalina.

Additionally, Season 1 actors such as Robbie G.K., Sophie Nélisse, Christina Chang, and Dylan Walsh are set to reprise their roles. The second season will also introduce a diverse range of Canadian talent, including Charlie Gillespie, Daniel Diemer, Emily Hampshire, and Priyanka.

Emily Hampshire, who plays a pivotal role in the series, expressed her excitement about joining the show and praised the creator and director Jacob Tierney. Despite its immense popularity, “Heated Rivalry” is not eligible for this year’s Primetime Emmy Awards, but it secured multiple wins at the Canadian Screen Awards.

Filming for the second season of “Heated Rivalry” has already commenced, with a scheduled premiere on Crave in Spring 2027.
