The captain and her husband, both experienced aviators for budget airline Wizz Air based in Luton, have a unique bond as they not only work for the same company but also share the same role. This rare duo often find themselves in the same cockpit, flying passengers to various destinations before returning to the UK.
Sanne, 31, and Nick, 33, have a seamless professional relationship, thanks to their decade-long familiarity. Their journey together began at a pilot school in Arizona in 2015, where their friendship evolved into a romance that eventually led them to work for Wizz Air at the same base.
Their synchronized schedules allow them to balance work and family life effectively. Despite the demanding nature of their job, they manage to maintain a stable routine with their 1.5-year-old daughter, ensuring they both get enough rest for their flights.
While they occasionally fly together, they don’t actively seek it out. The couple’s mutual respect for each other’s professionalism prevents any conflicts while flying, although Sanne humorously notes Nick’s habit of whistling into the microphone during flights.
Looking ahead, their flying partnership will be briefly paused as they anticipate the arrival of their child. However, they plan to resume their shared adventures in the skies after a well-deserved maternity leave.
